The Fusa Knot is basically a tassel with the origins coming from the traditional Danjiri Festival in Osaka, Japan. It’s design was originally meant to be a decorative charm that was adorned on the helmets of soldiers during ancient Japan as a form of “Good Luck Charm”. More specifically, it is a religious (Shinto) symbol of Abundant Harvest (as indicated by Danjiri Matsuri). It is also derived from the Buddhist “Mystic Knot”, which has no end, symbolizes the infinite wisdom of the Buddha.
